About

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – if that is the case, what about a million miles? Can you equate miles to dollars? For those of who have spent any time on a treadmill I think the answer would be a resounding YES!

This blog is my personal journey – a journey that will hopefully culminate in financial abundance. The goal of this blog is to hopefully inspire and help others along the way to their goals, be they financial or otherwise.

A little about the author – I’m 35 years old and have been an entrepreneur since I was 18, although both my first and second businesses failed, by the age of 20 I had begun┬ámy business of party fortune tellers Mystic Kathryn and this business is still in successful operation on a much grander scale today.

Despite having been self-employed for 15 years, I have yet to crack the financial freedom barrier. The last 12 months have been maybe my biggest struggle yet, but I’ve also added 2 dependents to my charge whom I am trying to successfully support all while still clinging to the laissez faire style of business that pushed me to become an entrepreneur in the first place.

If you build it – they will come. This has kinda been my mantra from the beginning. I started something, I did a little bit of marketing and I let the referrals get me to a lifestyle where more often then not, I was comfortable. I could take time off for family and friends whenever I wanted to, I could pay the rent, keep up my car and take the occasional vacation.

In the last 15 years 85-90% of my business has been word of mouth or repeat bookings. Only 10-15% has had anything to do with networking or marketing. These are only estimates – I don’t actually keep track of these statistics, but suffice to say – I don’t spend a lot of time in my office making calls.

Time for change, I realized about a month into my pregnancy – that it was time for change, time for focus, time to make my dreams a reality. It was time to stop thinking someday I’ll get to that – and actually get to it! How was I going to teach my child the road to financial freedom when I had yet to achieve it?

I want to be an example to my child, to let them see that YES they can only do that which they are passionate about and that YES that alone with desire and passion can lead to financial independence. So, here I go. Thanks for coming along – I’d love to hear your stories, trails and successes too – so please feel free to comment below.

Namaste,

Kathryn
